For people who make things alone, at the kitchen table or out in the garage at two in the morning. Press start and the room fills up with other people working: a lathe across the way, somebody planing a board, a sewing machine going in bursts, a kettle, a radio nobody is really listening to.

What this is
Company is a room full of neighbors made out of arithmetic. Each one is a small program with its own habits. It works for a while, stops to look at what it made, and gets back to it. The lathe spins up and winds down, the hammer keeps a human rhythm, and now and then everybody stops at the same moment for no reason, the way a real shop does.
Every sound is built while you listen, by your own browser, from noise and a few oscillators. There are no recordings and nothing is downloaded. Nothing you do here is recorded or sent anywhere, and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
It is meant to be left on for an hour while you work. Headphones make the room feel bigger. If you set a timer, people start packing up near the end, and the last one out closes the door.
